My sister snapped some pics at the capoeira demonstration last sundaty @ the ‘Wereldfeest’ in the Julianapark in Utrecht. She also commented that my pants were a bit too tight for her taste, maybe that’s just becasue I’m her brother, maybe fully justified, judge for yourself:
For some reason, when I try to set the rss feed in this sidebar to my jaiku feed, it just displays the main jaiku feed, instead of my personal one. Very annoying.
As a result of me claiming something and my girlfriend asking me where I got that from, I decided to do a bit of research into the world of Gulings (cilinder-shaped pillows).
I claimed that the Guling was something typical Indonesian, and that I know this from my mother and grandmother and from my visit to Indonesia. My girlfriend thought this was not enough proof, and wanted a detailed explanation.
I never got round to asking my mother, but she did ask her father (we both have degrees of
indonesian blood in our veins), who said I was almost right. The human-sized Guling is something that is typical indonesian, and people have this in their bed to cuddle up to (presumably when there’s no partner or someone else to cuddle up to.
Result of my web-search is the following picture and a link to a web-shop (or web-waroeng) that sells this stuff. Buy it here…
The sideblog is for those really tiny bubbles…
